We will have the C5 Fire Department presenting fire safety to all of our students on October 10! Fire safety is important to promote:
Prevention Awareness
: learn how to avoid fire hazards, like not playing with matches or lighters, reducing accidental fires.
Emergency Preparedness: Teaching kids what to do if a fire occurs, like stop, drop, and roll or knowing escape routes, can save lives.
Developing Lifelong Habits: Early education on fire safety creates lifelong habits that promote safety and awareness as they grow.
Reducing Panic: Knowing fire safety procedures helps children stay calm and take appropriate action during a fire emergency.
Promoting Responsibility: Teaching children the seriousness of fire safety fosters a sense of responsibility and accountability for their own safety and the safety of others.
Understanding Community Helpers: It introduces children to the role of firefighters and how to contact emergency services, reinforcing the importance of first responders.
